Is it obvious that I'm off this week, as I'm making posts in the middle of the day? Not going anywhere, as I'm now paying off that train trip.
Anyway, this article at Newsarama is the first of a look at the Ultimate Marvel line of comics that I read. The series started five years ago, and it worked, it's what gotten me hooked and visiting my comic shop almost every week. Great service; after I come in and browse around, the week's books that I've preordered are waiting for me at the till.
Thanks to eBay, I've tracked down and own everything Ultimate (in story-line terms) and I think all I need are the two Mary Jane novels and the Spider-Man video game coming out next month. Yes, I've got a completionist streak a mile wide. I now consider myself True Believer, even though I've always read Marvel books. But I think the original Transformers book doesn't count in this case.I actually thought about this beforehand, and I've come up with a definition for my True Believership. I'm a Latter-Day Ultimist. That got a laugh at the store.
